Do you smell that? It's fresh bread straight from the oven!

Bread is so versatile from an amazing avocado toast to a stunning sandwich, bread is something that we just need to have.

These bakeries have mastered the art of bread and other delicious baked goods!

1511 N 13th St, Boise, ID 83702

Located in Hyde park, this bakery has history. The location started out in 1950 as Certified Rug and Furniture Cleaners which closed in 2017. The new leasers, owners of the Wylder in downtown Boise, decided to keep the name Certified alive. Their name isn't the only thing with historical significance, but the sourdough starter that they use is 52 years old! They have a bistro style inside, but are geared towards a more grab and go type of business so you can keep adventuring! One of our favorite things from Certified bakery is their english muffins, which they have perfected!

291 N Ave E, Kuna, ID 83634

This fun pink bakery located in a renovated 1930's farmhouse just opened in 2020. The owners Anna and Aaron are passionate about making the freshest food accessible. They both have studied food policy and food advocates through their bakery. They have a delivery service that is free of charge, and have a bread club where you can choose a bread box delivered to you every week, every other week, or once a month! They specialize in sourdough, but they have a ton of other tasty baked goods. One of our favorites are the Kolaches!

3651 W. Overland Rd., Boise, ID 83705

Mathieu Choux, the owner of Gastons Bakery, arrived in Boise from Burgundy, France in 2001. He opened a cafe in downtown Boise called Le Café de Paris, where he served a variety of different breads. His cafe became so popular that he expanded to wholesale baking and eventually closed the cafe to focus on Gastons. He now is serving a large part of the local market, and even has expanded nationally. Not only does Gastons have magnificent bread, but Mathieu has recently started milling his own flour, creating a more holistic and nutritious product than what is typically at your grocery store. We love the croissants but you also can't go wrong with a simple Boule!

215 N 8th St, Boise, ID 83702

As a premiere artisan bakery, Zeppole is passionate about their craft! They focus on making sure their bread has a fully developed body and flavor, which is why they cold ferment all their bread for 12-24 hours and then bake it in a European stone hearth oven where it gets its hardy crust and rustic look. Not only are they making delicious bread but they are also giving back to the community by donating any unsold product to the Boise Rescue Mission, Life's Kitchens, Boise Sanctuary, and other charities. One of our favorite things at Zeppole's is the Ossa Dei Morti loaf.

Acme BreadFinder

A James Beard Foundation Finalist for Outstanding Baker, the owner of Acme Bakeshop Michael Runsvold, has spent years working at bakeries around the Treasure Valley. In 2012 he started his own bakery by delivering breads and baked goods all across the Treasure Valley. You can now see his creations at the Farmers Markets, CoOps and over 40 local businesses. He now has a crew of delivery drivers, bakers, and farmer's market workers that help him get the loaves where they need to be. One of our favorite things that he has created is the Go Go SunGold Tomato Croissants, but he always is cooking up something new to try!
